Join SC Farm Bureau in the one and only event in South Carolina that brings together young farmers and agriculturalists between the ages of 18-35 from all across the state of South Carolina!
As agriculture becomes more diverse than ever before, the SCFB Young Farmers & Ranchers Committee aims to offer you a conference that brings together young farmers and ag enthusiasts from across South Carolina, encourages them to join together as a unified voice and provides sessions that will meet diverse educational interests. Featuring educational, networking, and leadership development opportunities, this event offers something for everyone.

- Early-Bird deadline is December 16th.

This workshop will provide landowners and forestry professionals information on invasive plants and methods for management. Trained professionals will teach participants pesticide basics, including safety, active ingredients, and trade names. Identification and management methods for common woody plants, grasses, and understory plants will be discussed. An afternoon field tour will include hands-on demonstrations of mechanical invasive species control and herbicide application methods in different forest systems.
Approved: 5.5 hours Category 1 CFE credits and 5.0 hours SC Pesticide Recertification CCH (CORE)
Registration includes lunch.

Join us for an in-depth discussion on the preliminary findings of our SARE cucumber trial. You will see five varieties of cucumbers growing on two different trellis types and hear from the growers about their experiences with the system.
CFSA staff will cover issues of soil health, organics, proper trellising, planting, and harvest techniques. There will be a brief tour of Wild Hope Farm’s greenhouses and high tunnels and a discussion on the differences in use.

The South Carolina Agricultural Council is heading to Moore Farms Botanical Garden and the Lake City Area for our Spring 2023 tour! Join us for an enjoyable and information packed stroll through the garden. This guided tour gives a personalized and thorough interpretation of the garden, as you’ll gain unique insight into design concepts, plant identification, gardening techniques, and the history of the site.
The cost of the tour is $95. This includes travel to and from each stop, catered lunch at School House BBQ, and participation at each of the designated tour stops. After touring Moore Farms Botanical Garden (https://moorefarmsbg.org/) in the morning and eating lunch, tour participants will get some free time to explore downtown Lake City -- outdoor murals and public art, three art museums, Lake City Farmer's Market, Dr. Ronald E. McNair Memorial, and various antique stores (https://www.visitlakecitysc.com/things-to-do). The tour will conclude with a visit with The Citrus Man at McKenzie Farm Nursery (http://mckenzie-farms.com/index.htm).
